Quantum Thoughts – A Theory - Not Necessarily My Opinion…
Quantum physics points very clearly that our observation mixed with emotion of certainty brings about a non-local probability into a local, physical existence as long as we observe and give attention, energy and focus long enough.
For example if I really want a change of career and really believe that the change is possible: give it energy, focus and attention as well as action then in time things will start to change in the favor of my dominant thoughts. Biology and medicine has been very much influenced by the Newtonian model of reductionism. That is breaking everything down and find the problem. From this we have been educated to think that our genes control us. My father who died of cancer and that event made me think that I may have genes that are prone to getting cancer. Well this is not the case with recent findings from a body of work known as epigenetics and the findings in this study relate very much to the Quantum Physics model of the world. The word epi means above. Epigenetics means above the genes . In other words it is our perceptions that have the major effect on our genes. Genes are blueprints and do not control anything. We control them by our perceptions and environment. If we perceive lots of stress in our lives then over time we could attract cancer. However, if we change our perceptions and vision of life then a change of your biology happens in that moment. So change your environment and perception, you change your gene read out.
Also our beliefs will have a direct effect on our genetic makeup. If I believe subconsciously I am going to get an illness then my genes get “switched on” to this vibration emanating from my thoughts and beliefs. This underlines the important work that we need to get to the sub conscious level and clean out old beliefs and thoughts we either learned or inherited if we want to affect our beings positively at the gene and cell level.
How Does It Work?
There are many theories that have developed since the time of Einstein’s relativity equations attempting to unify the realms of mind and matter. Studies during the twentieth century by Carl Gustav Jung and Wolfgang Pauli proposed that there may be two connecting principles acting in nature. One is causality, or the cause and effect principle, which operates in the fourth dimension of time. The other connecting principle is a causal, and they called it synchronicity, believing it occurred at right angles in space time to the other principle. More recent theories have proposed that it is actually information itself which is being transferred by both consciousness and material reality. The evidence is the increasing of order in the results of tests done on subjects for esp when they were randomly resampled. Since information is the negative reciprocal of entropy it would even go so far as to account for the potential for telekinesis, let alone John Bell’s theorem that particles that were once in contact continue to influence each other instantaneously no matter how far apart they move, which would only require a meager acceptance of a faster than light mechanism for the transferal of energy.
Experiments with remote viewing or long distance telepathy show that there is a rise in right on target hits at the local sidereal times when the plane of the earth is facing perpendicular to the center of the Milky Way galaxy down the outer arm, around two in the afternoon, and that it drops immediately to its lowest point when the earth is aligned with the galaxy’s core. To describe the human ability of precognition, Jack Sarfatti uses the equation: h = ( e^2/hc ) ( mc^2 / H N^2 ), where h is Planck's constant, e is the electric charge of the electron, c is the speed of light, e^2/hc is the Fine Structure Constant, m is the electron mass, H is the Hubble factor 1/T where T is the age of our universe, and N is a number that will turn out to be the number of electrons in a coherent state of conscious superposition. Since a de-coherence event effecting any one of the N coherent particles will de-cohere all of them, it is reasonable that Tu is inversely proportional to N. This justifies the formula used by Jack Sarfatti, Tu = 1 / H N , for which at present, 1/H = 10^10 years, which is 10 billion years, at which time N = 10^18, so that , to rough order of magnitude Tu = 1 / H N = 3 x 10^17 sec / 10^18 = 0.3 sec, which, as Jack Sarfatti notes, is close to the Crick brain frequency of 40 Hz based on his model in which Tgrw = 1/H = 4 x 10^17 seconds. Tony Smith uses the same formulaic approach to extrapolate the potential for a conscious universe that can be known before its manifestations occur. He gives the long form of his equation as: N^2 = (e^2/hc) (mc^2 / H h) = (e^2/hc) (mc^2 / H Epl Tpl) = (e^2/hc) [(mc^2/Epl) ( (1/H)/Tpl)], where (1/H)/Tpl = Age of universe as a number of Planck times = 10^(7+10+43) = 10^60 Planck times; (mc^2/Epl) = Electron mass/energy as fraction of Planck energy = 10^(-22); (e^2/hc) = fine structure constant = 10^(-2) = square of amplitude to emit photon probability to absorb a "linking photon." The way he differs from Sarfatti is to take as fundamental, not (1/H), but GRW de-coherence. The total time for which N coherent particles can maintain superposition is Tgrw/N, so he uses Tu = Tgrw / N and gets for the present time Tu = 3 x 10^16 / 10^18 = 0.03 sec, which is shorter than the figure of Jack Sarfatti, but even closer to the Crick brain frequency of 40 Hz, so there may be resonant tuning of human consciousness with that of our present-day universe.
The ancients said that awareness of all these types of things in all these types of ways was being in kether. This is what I call the heaven of man that is hell to God.

The downfall of Newton’s model came in the 20th century through the work of Einstein, which can yield all of Newton’s results and more.
Ever since Newton formulated the first laws of gravity, the conceptual model of the physical world had successfully described the shape, movements and actions of the objects within it. But as physicists began to explore especially the atomic and subatomic realms in the early twentieth century, their observations became partially meaningless. The new discoveries required a paradigm shift and a new intellectual framework to understand events at the subatomic level, which eventually resulted in quantum physics.
Experiments proved Einstein’s model better than Newton’s, although Newton’s is good enough for terrestrial calculations, and even for moon flights.
The reductionist ideal is expressed in terms of a hierarchy of the sciences – physics, chemistry, biology, psychology, and social science – each dependent on the preceding. No one would ever argue that the place for psychology is between chemistry and biology. We see here levels of complexity. Laws, which seem to operate at one level, seem to be higher order with respect to those of lower levels. This is the kernel of the concept of emergence, the idea that at a given level of complexity there are properties characteristic of that level (emergent at that level) that are irreducible.

Hi Dallas, this is truly such an interesting topic. A thought flashed into my mind when I read your 1st paragraph…. “Quantum physics points very clearly that our observation mixed with emotion…..” Could this possibly be the reason for some paranormal experiences, such as seeing ghosts?
MartieCoetser, It is a possibility... Our observations of atoms and electrons changes their behaviors... We can only "guess" as an example on electrons probabilities where they are and their patterns, formerly called "orbits," now thought to be levels of energy... or "vibrations." The more we learn, the more we learn what we do not know. I surmise fractals holds a key to the "universality" of the universe. Fractals are infinite by their nature in terms of micro to macro. Perhaps the universe has a DNA... Perhaps our universe is a "electron" of a larger fractal... The Golden Ration is a constant in fractals... Business cards reflect this ratio. The ratio of the sides to the ends is the most pleasing. The ratio is found in plants (sunflowers patterns), animals and etc...
Oh gosh! I have to admit, dallas, I’ve got to concentrate now. I did some research on this topic in the mid 90’s for a science fiction play and some other writings, and realised that the ideas/theories are quite logical. The terminology, all those WORDS, confused me (lover of words) out of my mind. I’ve bookmarked your hubs to read whenever I feel like stressing my brain. LOL! Currently my attitude towards science is the same as towards sport - just tell me who won and what was the score. But I know the bug will soon bite me, and then I’ll plunge into this (again). Thank you so much for this response, I need it to justify a weird paranormal experience I had.

Paranormal experience maybe "normal." What is "normal?" I know and understand why you would term the experience "paranormal." It is outside your "comfort" zone. How do some dogs know their owners will have a seizure minutes before their owner has one and "alerts" them...? How does a dog know when their master is coming home and runs to the door, or window minutes before they show up? Just because our "awareness" does not allow us to understand -- does not negate your experience...
Dallas, I hear you. This is indeed a topic to ponder about and to discuss until we drop. The word paranormal is actually between normal and abnormal, meaning ‘next-to-normal’. (Please forgive me if I’m telling you something you know). So here the quantum physics make sense. Something may exist right next to you in a different what-is-that-word … let me just call it channel of time. So perhaps dogs and some people are always/sometimes aware of the happenings in that channel, experiencing the energy or vibes in the normal channel before it actually happens? O gosh, I’ve actually decided about 10 years ago to stop wrecking my brain about this, and here I go again. So why did I decide this, you may ask? Because there are so much I still need to have at least half a clue of. Currently I’m into psychology again – collective memory, and, of course, the paranormal. Quantum, I sense, have something to do with both these topics.

Your title and subject material inspired me to write a piece on differentials in time and perception. The basic idea is do we experience time differently as we get older?
If appearances can be taken as they are, I definitely feel as though time is speeding up, and, speeding up a little bit too quickly for its own good.

Time perhaps is relative... I do agree, I am digging my finger nails into the concrete to slow down my birthdays.. Today is my 66th! They do seem to come more quickly...
The concept of creating change that you write about is very interesting. I do believe there are some forces, unseen and unheard and untouchable as well, that come to our aid when we are in need. The result of our wish is not always exactly as we invisioned it, or wished it. Nor does it always come to us in a particular manor that we wished, but more often than not, if given enough energy through our thinking it will manifest.
The simplest examples that I can think of is the wanting of something chocolate to eat. The thought passes. The next day you visit a friend and she offers you some chocolate cake.
The other example is someone who is looking for a money earning opportunity and wanders onto the Internet, and finds Hubpages. They start writing and they start making money. Now they are averaging an income of US$250 (that's 250 U.S.A. dollars) per month. And yes, that person is me!
So if readers are looking for a real life example to confirm and validify the above concept in that which you write, I am the real life example. And yes, I was also offered chocolate cake and I ate every bit of it!

In my case, the "non-local probability manifested into local physical existence as $250 a month in AdSense checks from Google!
I know that some people will sneer at that amount of income. That's fine. I think that that monthly amount begins to become a little more difficult to sneer at after four months. I myself could never sneer at an income of USA$1,000 even if it totaled only 1,000 once every four months. Am I happy? Of course.

Except that you're full of unscientific nonsense. It may come as a surprise to New Agers that the "observer" spoken of in quantum physics is NOT an actual person! Electrons are "sitting in the dark", they don't make their presence known, and you have to shoot out light and hope you hit one. But it's so small that, when the light bounces back to you, you've changed its observed position according to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. It has NOTHING to do with mind-power, and doesn't imply the truth of New Age or psychic beliefs.

It does not concern me of your need to put me down. What does concern me is you have assumed yourself to be credible spokes person for the "New Agers."
Would not you agree an open dialogue may produce constructive, productive conversation which may educate for and against any particular subject?
The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle as you know is where the position and momentum of a particle cannot be simultaneously measured with arbitrarily high precision. There is a minimum for the product of the uncertainties of these two measurements. There is likewise a minimum for the product of the uncertainties of the energy and time. This is not a statement about the inaccuracy of measurement instruments, nor a reflection on the quality of experimental methods; it arises from the wave properties inherent in the quantum mechanical description of nature. Even with perfect instruments and technique, the uncertainty is inherent in the nature of things.
The Principle:
Light can be considered as being made up of packets of energy called photons. To measure the position and velocity of any particle, you would first shine a light on it, then detect the reflection. On a macroscopic scale, the effect of photons on an object is insignificant. Unfortunately, on subatomic scales, the photons that hit the subatomic particle will cause it to move significantly, so although the position has been measured accurately, the velocity of the particle will have been altered. By learning the position, you have rendered any information you previously had on the velocity useless. In other words, the observer affects the observed.
Given the above and not disputing the above stated "facts" as presently known... there is still as you refer the "New Agers," the "Intent." Lynne Mc Taggart, noted investigative reporter and author of "The Intention Experiment," "The Field," explores via double blind experiments (double-blind procedure: an experimental procedure in which neither the subjects of the experiment nor the persons administering the experiment know the critical aspects of the experiment; a double-blind procedure is used to guard against both experimenter bias and placebo effects)and understanding the notion "complementarity" - that you can never know everything about a quantum entity sych as an electron at the same time. An example: electron velocity and position.
There appears to be a causalty effect/affect of intent. A summary of the possiblilty is that the double slit experiment (photone light - wave, particle) encapsulate the centrl muystery of quantum physics - the idea that a subatomic particle is not a single seat, but the entire stadium. Zeilinger's experiment using molecules instead of subatomic particles, the interferometer contrained an array of slits in the first screen, and a grating of identical parall slits in the second one, whose purpose was to diffract (or detect) the molecules passing by.
Sai Ghosh research and Zeilinger's work on the double slit experiment indicates an invisible connection exists between the fundamental elements of matter, which often is so strong that it can overrides classical methods of influence, such as heat, or push.
These two experiments hold the key to a science of intention - how thoughts are able to affect finished, solid matter. They suggest the observer effect occurs not simply in the world of the quantum particle, but also in the world of the everyday. Things exist in relationships... Cocreation and influence may be a basic, inherent property of life. Our observation of every compoonent in our world may help to determine its final state, suggesting we are likely to be influencing every large thing we see around us.
This has not been demonstrated in "normal" temperatures; existing equipment is still too crude. However, preliminary proof: the physical world - matter itself- appears to be malleable, susceptable to influence from the outside.
I have devoted this much space to establish my basis for the above artice. I spoke in generalities for general population understanding. There is mush more detailed body of information you can research - if you have an inquiring mind.

Don't fill up the space with more blather and nonsense! I can tell you are PIG IGNORANT ABOUT SCIENCE when you say that the Earth is aligned the same way at two o'clock every afternoon! That is not possible, since the Earth moves around with respect to the Sun, we basically tell night from day where the Sun is, but with respect to the stars we are at completely different orientations during the year. The Earth is turned right around 180 degrees when it is two o'clock six months later and, over the course of the year, assumes every rotational position in-between.
What is your fun? What is your "kick" that propels you to publish nonsense? HubPages are meant for REAL information, not blather and unsourced wishful thinking.

If you would check one of your sources, "The Committee for Skeptical Inquiry." you will find their discussions on a more "scientific approach - one of being an agnostic which generates debates.. not attacking the authors as being "PIG IGNORANT."

Well, everything from "two in the afternoon" (it is impossible for the Earth to stay in the same orientation at 2 p.m. at every time of year, for it is revolving around the Sun at the same time) seems like nonsensical equation-writing. Can you point to actual sources for what you're talking about, especially as the equations are formatted so badly? It makes you look like a nonsense-spammer of which so many exist on HubPages. You don't even paragraph what you are doing.
And how is "0.3 seconds" or "0.03 seconds" "in tune" with 40 Hz? 0.03 seconds is 33.333 Hz, and you mix it with 40 Hz you'll get a nasty beat pattern 7 times a second.

I was wrong! Or as a politician would state, "I mispoke." My rationale (excuse!) In my effor to write about a detailed and very technical topic I tried to talk to a broad-based public and not "talk down" in the process. I hope understand. You stated you have studied chemistry. If you talked technical things about chemistry, you would soon find me "lost." I do not profess to know everything.
I even forget where I left my car keys on occasion...
You may be right in regard to the "0.3 seconds" or "0.03 seconds"... I fail to see if this would negate the purpose of the article... As for my failure to "paragraph correctly," Guilty!

This is way, way over my head, but I can tell you this. I've played a lot of gigs in my younger days. I was the lead singer in a locally popular band. There was always one little turd hiding in the middle of the crowd heckeling. It was always some poor a-hole pissed off at the world because they wern't cool and couldn't get laid. The pathetic little geeks just wanted to try and ruin the show for everyone else. All you had to do was offer them a mic and the stage, and you couldn't pry them from the crowd.

Perhaps Pierre will understand the Golden Rule... the simple concept of treating others as you want to be treated. It works for me...
I'm pretty mean to these types, but bad manners can't go unpunished. One of these guys almost ruined a friend of mine who's one of the sweatest girls alive, and a good writter. He (the jerk) guy almost broke her heart, so I taunted him into one of my hubs. I pulled his finger nails out one by one until he finally submitted. We actually became friends. You can see the dialog in my hub on America Haters. The comments have actually been the source of several good hubs by people who watched this thing.
These guys are typewritter bullies. They just beg to be slapped around and aren't happy until they get it.

My Christian faith is sometimes in conflict with these things, or so it appears on the surface. I think I treat people with respect, and generally love my neighbor maybe even more than myself. I just can't stand a bully, and bad manners. I think I even love Pierre. There's a part of me that feels sorry for this obviously not too happy guy. But these people will never get any love or respect unless some one holds them accountable for being respectful. If he comes back and wants to debate my friends and act like a gentleman, I'll give the dude the love. I just don't tolerate anyone disrespecting me, my family ,or friends. Never havem never will.
